Marionette

Upwards, downwards, twirl and prance
Round and round, dance, dance, dance

Pull the strings and tug the wires
The fool lives to please its sire

Cast my mask to jest or cry
I will obey without a sigh

It won't be long before I fade
My colors pale and the strings fray

Cast my mask to slumber deep
And slowly fall into my dreams....

  1. I really like reading these poems. Are they original? I was writing, hit a dead spot and found your site. The poems inspired me. They are very beautiful. Thank you for sharing them.
